Dr. Efstratios Mitridis

Efstratios Mitridis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied Chemical Engineering in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki under a combined BSc and MSc curriculum, graduating with honors in 2015. He started his PhD immediately after in the Laboratory of Thermodynamics in Emerging Technologies at ETH Zürich, successfully defending in fall 2019. He then proceeded with Postdoctoral studies in the same laboratory for one year. He joined Prof Shih’s group on February 2021. His main expertise revolves around nanotechnology and thin film deposition of functional metamaterials, while his current research is focused on metal single crystals and the development of new composites for gas sensors.
