M. Sc. Chemical and Bioengineering, ETH Zurich (Switzerland)

Gerrit Stemmler, born in Hamburg, Germany, received his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at ETH Zurich in 2018 and his M.Sc. in Chemical and Bioengineering in 2019 from the same institution. He carried out his master thesis on a comprehensive approach to the simulation of magic-sized cluster (MSC) CdSe nanocrystals, focusing on ligand-ligand interactions and their effect on the cluster geometry and distortion. Subsequently he worked as an intern at Roche, Switzerland on IT solutions for process and workflow management.

In 2020 he joined the Nanomaterials Engineering Research Group led by Prof. Chih-Jen Shih at ETH Zurich. His research interests focus on the development of new approaches for flexible fiber optoelectronics, based on alternating current light emitting devices (AC-LEDs).
